About Melissa
HOW I WORK
I am fascinated with the body, its mechanisms, and how it moves us through our lives. I have investigated my own overuse injuries with the unrelenting fervor of a warrior, which is the translation of my last name GUERRERO.
I meet you exactly where you are. My HOLISITIC approach treats the whole human being that you are. Any details of your present experience that you’d care to share serves as useful information as we work together in your session.
My experience includes working on people whose occupations and lifestyles require them to utilize their bodies in specific ways. A software developer, a pianist, a chef, a new mom, a runner, and a dog walker, will all have different areas of concern. With an extensive dance, yoga and movement background, I gladly offer a stretch or exercise to take home with you, based what we discover in your session.
I have treated the following conditions, to name a few: stress, anxiety, depression, pregnancy, digestive issues, arthritis, headache, migraine, TMJ, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica symptoms, plantar fasciitis, Fibromyalgia, scoliosis, and post-surgery. I have supported my clients through life transitions, decisions, grief and celebrations.
Whether your self-care regimen includes receiving massage once a year, once a season, or more frequently, is up to you. My goal—each time—is to help awaken your innate intelligence in your healing process. My passion is to help you befriend the body you inhabit and to guide you to connect with yourself.
